Here’s a fall-themed smooshy vellum background just in time for Thanksgiving. Check the previous post for a tutorial on how to create this fun background using vellum card stock and craft ink spots.
This card features my latest favorite card template, the easel card.
It is very simple to create:
1. Cut a piece of card stock to 4 x 8 inches.
2. Score and fold at 2 and 4 inches.
3. Cut a piece of card stock to 4 x 4 inches. This will be the piece that will be your card front and folds to the front of the card. Stamp, decorate and mat with other card stock as desired.
4. You will need to add a “stopper” piece on the long, un scored side of the card stock to keep the front of the card held up in place. To do this, find the center of this long piece by measuring 2 inches from the bottom and 2 inches from the side. Draw a mark where the two measurement lines intersect with a pencil.
5. Punch a hole at this mark (I have used my paper piercing tool and mat) and insert a brad. For the card above, I punched a 1″ circle out of basic black card stock and centered it using a dimensional. I then added the stamped pine cone 3/4″ circle piece.
6. Fold down the first scored section of the 4 x 8 card stock and apply adhesive to it. Adhere your decorated 4 x 4 piece to this folded part. Make sure the card front’s bottom edge is flush with the edge of the folded card stock.
I changed the dimensions a little bit for this card. It measures 8 x 4 3/4 inches and is still scored at 2 and 4 inches.
