Aluminum Hearts-cutting aluminum with the Big Shot

I know Valentine’s Day has passed, but I wanted to make a special card for a friend of mine who is going through some rough times.  She is an avid Coca-Cola collector, and I knew she’d appreciate a Thinking of you card made with Coke cans.  I used my Big Shot and a Sizzix Hearts die to cut out the hearts from two Coke cans.  The big heart was cut from a Coke can that is promoting the Olympics, so there is a snowboarder on the can.  It was a little tricky cutting out the heart around this figure.  So instead, I added the plain silver heart (the inside of the can) right over the snowboarder.  The smaller heart was cut out of a Christmas Coke can that had a picture of Santa Claus and snowflakes.

I used my new Pinking Hearts border punch on the silver mat.  I need more practice punching a square.  Please excuse the rough corners!

One of the things I like about using the  Pinking Hearts border punch is all the little hearts that are cut out.  Here is my pile of leftover little silver hearts. I added them as confetti to the inside of the card.  I know, I know.  When she opens the card, she’ll have a confetti heart mess, but I couldn’t resist!
