Shabby Chic Fabric Pins

Fabric Pin class 041

We all had a great time at my Shabby Chic Fabric Pin class held at the beginning of April.  Most attendees brought their own fabric and center pieces.  It was interesting to see the different colors and textures.

I am adjusting to my new surroundings here in southern Colorado.  My Mom came up from ABQ and spent a week with us in our new home.  We spent an afternoon in downtown Pueblo strolling the River Walk and eating  a “slopper” for lunch at the Gold Dust Saloon.  Sloppers are all the rage here.  The Food Network is even going to have an episode of “Food Wars” featuring two local Pueblo restaurants competing with their own special slopper recipes.  From what I can tell, a slopper is a hamburger pattie smothered with french fries, onions, chile (red or green) and lots of cheese.   It reminded us of the “Travis” found at the K&I Diner in Albuquerque.

Anyway, I digress…. The point of the story is that I stumbled onto Anderson’s, a great store in downtown Pueblo that sells bolts and bolts and bolts of upholstery fabric.  I could have spent a day walking through the store and picking out fabric for more shabby chic fabric pins!  My Mom was a good sport and helped me pick out the fabrics used on the pin photographed above. I  I was instantly drawn to the purples and teals. My favorite is the teal burlap! I spoke with the owner who is interested in holding a Shabby Chic Fabric Pin class at the store.  It was a nice way to be introduced to Pueblo!

I watched the videos and realized how to do a shaker card. Pretty cool. The bubble wrap card is so much fun. The blue really stands out in each card. I like your videos. You get right to the card instructions. Great creative ideas. -D Welch
