This was a quick and easy card made using the Summer Smooches Stencil from Stampin’ Up!
How to Use Stencils
-Stampin’ Up! offers several stencil designs on page 234 of the main catalog. (The stencils are retiring and are only available through May 31!)
-The stencils include stencil and mask images to create a variety of coordinated looks.
-Use brushes, sponges or sponge daubers to apply ink or paint.
-The most important tip for using stencils is to have the stencil securely in place so it does not shift. If it shifts, you will have a shadow look to your finished project. I use masking or painter’s tape to hold the stencil in place.
- Secure stencil on paper so it doesn’t shift while you are working with it. I add a little piece of masking or painter’s tape on the 4 sides of the stencil. The can easily be removed from the stencil.
2. Use a sponge or sponge dauber to add ink. Hold the stencil in place with one hand while you sponge on the color with the other. Again, this is to make sure the stencil does not shift.
3. Continue to sponge on color as desired. You can keep the image light or darken it by adding more color.
4. When satisfied with the color, carefully lift the stencil up by removing the tape from your work sheet.
