Oh my, another great challenge over at One Layer Wednesday. This one is entitled “In the Kitchen.” The challenge was to find something in your kitchen to provide inspiration for a one layer card.
Here is my card:
It was inspired by two bottle caps from Marble Brewery located in Albuquerque, NM. My husband left them out on the kitchen counter for me because he knows I save them to use if my crafting. I have a stash of really interesting bottle caps. All kinds of colors and designs. They really can add 3D interest to any craft project.
A couple of things about my card. It is a 2 layer card. I’m still getting used to stamping right on the card base and seem to always have a smudge or smear or something is just not right. I know it doesn’t have to be perfect. I tell my customers that all the time! That’s what makes it handcrafted and special. I know, I know. But still…. So with this card, I just made it easier on myself and mounted the card front to a Basic Gray card base.
The background paper is shimmery silver, but it is hard to photograph. This card really shimmers in person.
