Napkin Transfer Technique
What you need:
napkin with ply removed
Napkins-These can be purchased at a variety of places including discount, party
supply and crafting stores. I was able to find a variety of packs of
beverage napkins at our local Tuesday Morning for 69 and 79 cents.
Very affordable!
TIP: napkins usually come in either 2 or 3 ply. For this technique, you will need to remove the ply and use only
the top portion of the napkin. It maybe hard to peel off the ply. Tear
or cut the corner of the napkin to get it started.

plastic wrap-any household plastic wrap will do
iron and ironing board
scrap paper to cover your ironing board and to sandwich the
napkin in while ironing. I use the packing paper that Stampin’ Up!
provides in shipping. I would not recommend using newspaper as it may
leave newsprint on your finished napkin.
1. Unfold the napkin and remove the ply.
2. Cut a piece of card stock slightly larger than the napkin.
3. Cut a piece of plastic wrap slightly larger than the napkin.
4. Heat up iron to medium setting, no steam.
5. Place the card stock on the ironing board protected with a piece of scrap paper.
6. Place the plastic wrap on the card stock.
7. Place the napkin on the plastic wrap (design up)
8. Cover with another piece of scrap paper. Make sure your
scrap paper covers the edges of the plastic wrap so you don’t get melted
plastic on your iron.
9. Iron slowly, applying heat 10-15 seconds.
10. Peel off the scrap paper cover. The napkin should
stick to the plastic wrap which has been melted to the card stock. If
parts of the napkin are not totally glued down, then iron a little more.
10. Trim off the excess edges.
11. Trim to fit the size of your project. Layer and embellish as desired.
I know it is hard to see in the photograph, but this
technique leaves the napkin with the look and texture of fabric.
