This week, the ladies over at One Layer Wednesday have presented a great challenge! The challenge was to create a one layer “scene.”
Here’s my contribution. Here at our little house in a big forest, this is pretty much our daily view out of our front window!
For this challenge, I started out with this hand-cut Christmas tree stencil that was left over from another project (an Iris Folded Christmas tree that I created for an upcoming Nacho Average Stamper Challenge-stay tuned!). This stencil was sitting in the scrap pile. What a great way to re-purpose it for this challenge.
I secured the stencil on my card base using a little bit of Dotto to hold it in place.
I sponged on Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Calypso Coral and Always Artichoke inks to form the tree.
I then stamped the tree image from Nobel Deer using Black Stazon.
Once that was completed, I moved the stencil to sponge the tree base and the star at the top. I then stamped the greeting and swirl and inked the edges of the card base to complete.
