Stamping With Blue Moon Creations

Baby Swipe Technique-Serene Silhouettes

I held a fall-themed card class for the ladies of Wetmore this past weekend.  This is one of the cards we created using the Baby Swipe Technique:

Baby Wipe Technique 013

I couldn’t believe that I had not already shared the baby swipe technique with the Wetmore ladies since it is one of my top ten favorite stamping techniques.  It’s a great landscape technique, and all you need are baby wipes and reinkers!

Really any brand/type of baby wipe will work.  We used an inexpensive brand that I purchased at ***mart.

For the baby swipe technique, simply fold a baby wipe into 4ths and apply a line of reinker along a folded edge.

Swipe the color onto a piece of glossy card stock.  (Regular matte card stock can be used as well.  The colors will be bolder.  You will have more muted colors using glossy card stock).

Baby Wipe Technique 008

Fold the baby wipe again so you have another clean folded edge and add a line of another reinker along the edge.  Swipe on the card stock. Continue folding the baby wipe to get a clean edge, add colors and swipe onto card stock.  When you are done, you can blend the colors together by swiping a clean baby wipe over the surface.

Let the card stock dry completely before stamping an image over it.

Baby Wipe Technique 015

This can be a messy technique with ink getting on your fingers. Use a clean baby wipe to clean the ink off.
