Emboss Resist Ex Libris-Nacho Average Challenge #90

Our challenge colors this week over at the Nacho Average challenge site are Crisp Cantaloupe, Night of Navy and Summer Starfruit.

Here is my contribution:

Ex Libre 001

For this card, I used two retiring stamp sets, Ex Libris and Fabulous Florets (the greeting).  I used the emboss resist technique for the background.  First I stamped the Ex Libris image on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Versamark, then heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  I then sponged on Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit and Night of Navy.  The ink resists where the image has been embossed.

I made the flower out of Creped Filter Paper.  I punched 2 pieces each using the Blossom and Pansy punches.  I mixed rubbing alcohol, a drop or two of Night of Navy reinker and Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz in a Stampin’ Spritzer bottle.  I shook it to mix, then spritzed it onto my punched pieces.  I layered them one on top of the other and secured them together with a glimmer brad.  Then, I crunched them up and let them dry.  Once dry, I simply fluffed them open a little.  The leaves are from the “wing” of the Bird Builder punch.

I am really sorry to see both these stamp sets retiring.  I just purchased Ex Libris and haven’t used it much.  I love the greeting from Fabulous Florets and use it often.
