We have a fun, yet simple sketch challenge this week over at the Nacho Average site.
Here’s my contribution:
When I first saw this sketch, I immediately thought I would use the Little Leaves Sizzlit which I recently purchased. I had every intention of cutting out the leaf pattern from a piece of card stock. But, the sizzlit comes with a small piece of foam packing which I noticed when I first opened it up. “Mmmm” I thought to myself. “Why couldn’t I use the sizzlit to cut out the leaf image right out of the packaging?” I certainly could, and that is exactly what I did. The cut out has a nice texture to it which I really like. And what a great way to recycle and reuse!
To add a touch of bling, the small dots around the leaves were punched out of red glimmer paper using the Owl Builder punch. The banner underneath the greeting was also cut out of red glimmer paper using the Big Shot and a Banners framelit.
Now for the sunburst background. I lightly marked the center of my So Saffron card front using a pencil. Then, I took a piece of scrap card stock and lined it up with that mark to use as my template. I sponged Pumpkin Pie ink along the edge of the template, then rotated it to another area of the card front, making sure that it was still lined up with the center mark. I continued rotating it all around the card front until I had cool sun rays coming from the center. When I was done, I simply sponged on more Pumpkin Pie ink to the center to create a larger circle. Easy peasy!
