Recently, I was cleaning out my craft room and I came across several dried baby wipes that I had used to clean some stamp sets. I remember thinking the interesting ink patterns left on the baby wipes could be used for backgrounds for cards in the future. I was pleasantly surprised when I found them, and thought I better use one or two right away to test my theory.
I like it! It has a soft, fuzzy appearance and texture. And you can see the light imprint on the baby wipe which adds more texture and interest. I stamped the images using Early Espresso ink. The birds/branches came out a little too light, so I filled in the images using my Early Espresso marker. I used this week’s Nacho Average sketch for this one, so hence the banners on each side.
So, don’t throw those baby wipes or paper towels away after using them to clean stamps or as blotters. They just might give you inspiration for a pretty and interesting background!
Supplies Used: Baby Wipe, Colors on the baby wipe? I’m guessing Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight-it’s a mixture of colors cleaned off a stamp(s).
