Dahlia Fold Friend to Friend-Nacho Average Sketch #133

Dahlia Fold

Time for a sketch challenge this week over at the Nacho Average site.

Here’s my contribution:

Dahlia Fold 001

For this card, I created a Dahlia Fold flower made using Back to Black Designer Series Paper.

This site has good instructions on how to do the dahlia fold.

For the petals, you’ll need to punch 9 circles out of Designer Series Paper or card stock (Designer Series Paper is a little easier to fold), and 1 larger circle out of card stock (Basic Black on mine) to use as the base to build your flower.  I used my 1-1/4″ circle punch for the petals and my 1 3/4″ circle punch for the base.  After you’ve folded your petals, apply glue onto the 1 3/4″ circle base and arrange the petals, meeting the points of each at the center of the base.  You may have to adjust the petals to fit side by side and to fill in any gaps.  Use a color that is found in your Designer Series Paper as your base so if there are any small gaps, they won’t be noticeable.

Here’s the original sketch:
