I hope you’ll check out this week’s sketch challenge over at the Nacho Average site!
Here’s my contribution:
This fall inspired card uses the Floating Watercolor technique and the stamp set Blended Bloom.
The Floating Watercolor technique is very easy to do and is one of those WOW projects.
For this card, I did the Floating Watercolor technique slightly different. Instead of spritzing the whole piece of card stock with water, I used my aqua painter to only add water to each of the embossed flowers. Then, when the watercolor paper was good and wet, I added the drops of ink using the tip of the aqua painter. This way, the ink would spread within the edges of the embossing, and not end up outside of the flowers.
Before starting the Floating Watercolor technique, I stamped the greeting with Chocolate Chip ink, then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. I wanted to place the flowers around the greeting, but didn’t want to take a chance of the greeting smearing while I worked with the water. After the watercolor paper had dried, I stamped the speckles from Gorgeous Grunge using Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry inks.
Here’s the sketch:
