Paint Chip Wild About Flowers-Nacho Average Challenge #153

We have a simple sketch this week over at the Nacho Average challenge  site.

Here’s my contribution:

Wild about flowers 002

I like to stroll the paint aisles at our local home improvement store for interesting paint chips that I can craft with.  Recently, I picked up several that had different shades of purples and lilacs. The names of the 3 colors on this chip are Plash of Lilac (yes, that is spelled correctly), Twirling Girl and Ash Violet.  What fun it would be to be charge of naming the paint chips!

Anyway, I thought this one would work perfectly with my new stamp set Wild About Flowers.  This particular image found in the set  reminds me of the thistle we have growing and blooming on our property.

This was my inspiration for the card.

I have found that the slick surface of the paint chips does not hold dye ink very well.  I found it is best to heat emboss the image to get a clearer image.  So, for this card, I Two-Step stamped the leaves and the flowers using Garden Green and Blackberry Bliss ink, then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.   The greeting is from Sheltering Tree.

Here is the original sketch:
