Paper Piecing using Beautiful You and Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper
The Paper Piecing Technique in card making is adding colorful and patterned paper to a stamped image.
When it is paired with the images in Beautiful You, it’s kinda like playing paper dolls when you were a child but with a grown-up appeal.
And by using the patterned pieces found in Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper ( found in this month’s sneak peek bundle from Stampin’ Up!), the images now have a bold, colorful look.

The Paper Piecing Technique is easy to do.
Here’s how:
Stamp your image onto a neutral piece of card stock. For this card, I stamped the woman with the umbrella image on Very Vanilla card stock using Basic Gray ink.
Then, I stamped her body and umbrella on different patterned Eastern Palace DSP using Basic Gray ink.
For her dress, I used the deep-colored, Fresh Fig lined pattern. I think this is going to be one of my new favorite colors!
For the umbrella, I used the fun Tranquil Tide and Dapper Denim polka dot pattern.
Then, with a pair of scissors, I cut out the individual pieces.
Then, it is just a matter of piecing them onto the stamped image. You can pop them up with Dimensionals if you’d like.
I popped up the umbrella but decided to use SNAIL Adhesive for the dress.
With the images in Beautiful You, the possibilities are endless for the Paper Piecing Technique. You can make different “outfits” to match the mood of the card. Or use your recipient’s favorite colors.
See, just like playing with paper dolls!
