Recycle and Reuse Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper-Butterly Basics

Recycle and Reuse Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper-Butterly BasicsRecycle and Reuse Stampin' Up! Grid Paper-Butterly BasicsI recently came across a small piece of Stampin’ Up! grid sheet paper that I had used to cover my workspace while doing a watercolor background technique.

I often save my worksheets to use for other projects, especially if there are interesting colors and or images.

Recycle and reuse, right?

Here is the original card:

I was using my grid sheet paper as a test for the Spritzing Watercolor Background Technique on this card.

This is a super easy technique:

I tapped different colors of ink pads (Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry) onto one of the images found in the Happy Celebrations stamp set, then spritzed the ink with water and stamped.  The test paper also had Peek-a-Boo Peach.  I inked up and stamped the image a couple of times onto my grid sheet paper as a test.

The test stamping was on only a small section of the grid sheet, so I cut it down and stashed it away in a small box with other recycled pieces that I could use at another time.

I am pleasantly surprised when I find pieces like this.

To complete the card, I simply stamped the greeting from Butterfly Basics using Black Archival Ink and then mounted it to my Basic Black card base.

I cut a butterfly out of Basic Black card stock using my Big Shot and Detailed Butterfly Thinlits Die.

I cut a solid butterfly out of Melon Mambo card stock using the Bold Butterfly Framelits Die.

I used a Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the two layers and set them aside to let the glue dry for a few minutes.

Once dry, I popped the butterfly onto the grid sheet card front using a Dimensional.  I added a Candy Dot out of my stash to complete.

Be sure to hang onto some of those used grid sheets as they might come in handy for providing an interesting background for your next project!

You never know!
