Crafting with Aluminum Cans-Joe IPAJoe IPA Masculine Card
One of my favorite crafting techniques is to cut shapes out of aluminum cans and add them to my card creations.

I’m always on the lookout for interesting designs and colors on aluminum cans.
Fortunately, my husband is a craft beer drinker and is always bringing home new beers to try. Often, these beers have interesting labels on the cans. My husband drinks the beer, then I confiscate the cans to create!
This was certainly the case with Joe IPA brewed by 10 Barrel Brewing in Bend, OR.
I saw this guy sitting on the steps of his camper and immediately saw the resemblance to my stepson Josh.
This was the card I created for his recent birthday.
I embossed silver foil paper using the Big Shot and Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.
I couldn’t get the matted aluminum can piece to stay glued to the embossed silver foil paper (I tried Dimensionals and Tombow Multi-purpose Glue. The piece kept slipping off), so I got out my Crop-a-dile (remember the Crop-a-dile from years back?), and punched holes in the four corners and through the embossed background. I attached everything using silver brads. Then, it held like a charm!
Here’s what the beer can looked like before I cut it up.
Love the logo, “Drink Beer Outside.”
Hope you’ll give this a try.
If you do, you’ll never look at aluminum cans the same again!
