Crafting with Aluminum Cans-Crazy Mountain Lava Lake
Crazy Mountain Lava Lakes
One of my favorite crafting techniques is to cut shapes out of aluminum cans and add them to my card creations.

I’m always on the lookout for interesting designs and colors on aluminum cans.
Fortunately, my husband is a craft beer drinker and is always bringing home new beers to try. Often, these beers have interesting labels on the cans. My husband drinks the beer, then I confiscate the cans to create!
This was certainly the case with Crazy Mountain Brewery located in Denver, CO.
They are some of my favorites to craft with as they always have an interesting mix of animals on the cans.
For the card above, I used the Lava Lake Wit can with the fun image of Byamba, a mix of fox, osprey, and trout!
After cutting the can down, and trimming the image, I attached it to a piece of silver foil paper that I embossed using the Big Shot and Woodland embossing folder.
I have found that the best way to attach the cans to the card front is with brads. Regular SNAIL or Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue doesn’t seem to hold up well.
Here is what the cans looked like before I cut them up.
Be sure to check back on 7/17 for creations using the Mountain Livin’ Pale Ale and Crazy Mountain Amber Ale cans.
