I love to cut shapes out of aluminum cans and add them to my card creations.

It’s easy to do, and the possibilities are endless!

I’m always on the lookout for interesting designs and colors on aluminum cans.

Over the years, I have used hundreds of different beer and soda cans, each one turning out a little different.

Fortunately, my husband is a craft beer drinker and is always bringing home new beers to try.  Often, these beers have interesting labels on the cans.

My husband drinks the beer, then I confiscate the cans to create!

This was the case when he brought home Electric Cowboy India Pale Ale from Diebolt Brewing Co, Denver, CO.

Isn’t the label just gorgeous and fun?

I got out the tin snips and started cutting away when I realized this label was different.  Instead of the design printed right on the aluminum, it’s plastic that has been shrink-wrapped onto the can.  Once the can is cut, the label comes right off.

It’s a little flimsy, so before cutting it any further, I attached it to a piece of card stock to give it some backing.

Then, I trimmed it using my guillotine cutter.

I attached it to a Pumpkin Pie mat, then added some black and silver shimmer cording along the edges using Tombow Glue.  I then added glimmer brads from my stash to the four corners and attached it to a Basic Black card base to complete.

I didn’t think the card needed anything else.  The label is doing the heavy lifting on this one!

Here’s what the beer can looks like before I cut it down:
