Crafting with Aluminum Cans Odd 13 Brewing
I’ve shared many of the cards I have created over the years using beer or soda cans.
I cut the cans down and use the fun and colorful labels to create cards.
My husband drinks a variety of craft beers, and I’m always confiscating the cans afterwards.
Recently, he had cans of the Hop Hackin’ Henry India Pale Ale from Odd13 Brewing, Lafayette, CO.
Oh my, I was immediately taken with the bold colors and interesting character on the label.
What was also great is that the label was actually printed on plastic that was glued to the can instead of being printed on the actual can.
So, I didn’t need to cut the can down. I just needed to carefully peel off the label.
I then attached it to a piece of card stock so I could cut the part I wanted to use in an oval shape using my die cut machine and oval die.
So easy!
I matted it with a Basic Black oval and attached it to a Misty Moonlight card front which matched perfectly with the colors on the label.
The greeting is from Blossoms in Bloom stamped in Memento Black on a piece of Calypso Coral card stock and popped up using Dimensionals.
Fun, and the possibilities are endless!
Here’s what the cans look like before cutting them down.
