Welcoming Woods Fall Card

Welcoming Woods Fall Card

The new Holiday Mini Catalog from Stampin’ Up! is Here!

One of my favorite stamp sets found in this catalog is Welcoming Woods.

Believe it or not, Fall is not far away with winter/Christmas right on its heels!

With the Welcoming Woods Stamp Set, you can make cards for all of these occasions and more. Stamp snowflakes for winter or leaves in the color of the season, then add some color using your favorite coloring tools. You’ll find year-round uses for these realistic images and variety of sentiments.

For this card, I decided to make a  Welcoming Woods Fall card, creating a scene of falling leaves on a Fall backdrop made using Blending Brushes.*

Welcoming Woods Hello Friend

Here’s How:

  1. With Blending Brushes, blend Night of Navy, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Mossy Meadow inks on a Basic White card front.
  2. Stamp trees from Welcoming Woods using Early Espresso ink.  I used the Stamparatus to get a good stamped image.
  3. Stamp leaves using Merry Merlot ink.
  4. Mat to Early Espresso card stock.  Attach to Beauty of the Woods Designer Series Paper mat.  Attach to Bumblebee card base.
  5. Stamp greeting on a scrap piece of Bumblebee card stock using Merry Merlot ink.  Banner cut one end.  Attach to card front using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up to complete.

Blending Brushes

What are Blending Brushes you might ask?

Blending Brushes are used to easily blend ink.

Apply extremely light shades of ink or create soft gradient backgrounds with no lines.

Or use them with Decorative Masks or stencils. The velvety soft bristles blend ink perfectly.

They are easy to clean on the Stampin’ Shammy using a swirling motion and a little pressure. You could also gently run them under a tap to let the ink run out. You should then gently press out any excess water. You will need to let it fully dry before you can use it again.
