Here’s How:

  1. Start with an 8″x8″ card base (Basic Black). Cut 4- 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ pieces for the inside panels. Cut the two pieces attached to the panels with the folds in half on the diagonal.  Gather stamps, inks, and embellishments.
  2. Insert into a paper scorer.  Line up at the 4″ mark and score.  Turn the paper, and score again at 4.”
  3. Turn the paper on the diagonal, lining up the top and bottom corners in the scoring groove—score tip to tip on the diagonal.
  4. Fold along the score lines using a bone folder to get crisp score lines.
  5.  Fold in along the score lines creating the Diamond Fold.
  6. Decorate the inside using the four panels.

Here’s how I decorated the inside of my card:

-2 pieces of Designer Series Paper are cut in half on the diagonal for the top right and bottom left panels

-2 wood embellishments colored using Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write Marker and attached to the designer series paper using Tombow Glue

-2 pieces of Basic White card stock.  A strip of Rich Razzleberry was added to the top left piece using Tear & Tape Adhesive to create a pocket for a gift card.  I added a greeting to the bottom right panel using Broadway Star from an older Paper Pumpkin kit stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink.

7. Attach the tassel and button to the top of the cap using Glue Dots to secure.  I made the tassel by folding a piece of grosgrain ribbon in half and tying a knot.  Next, I trimmed the edge of the ribbon and then picked at it with my fingernails, fraying the ribbon.  You can tailor-make the tassel in the graduate’s school colors.

Done!

The possibilities are endless!
