How to Make a Diorama Card
Mountain Air Diorama Card

I created this diorama card for my Dad for his birthday using the Mountain Air stamp set, coordinating Majestic Mountain Dies and Diorama Dies from Stampin’ Up!

The Diorama Dies make a perfect frame for a diorama scene.

Here’s How:

1.Cut frame in card base (Night of Navy) using one of the Diorama Dies.

2. Cut a border (Pacific Point) for the opening by nesting two of the Diorama Dies, one inside the other.

3. Create the landscape scene:

-For this card, I created a paper towel background using a piece of paper towel that I had used to clean stamps.  I smoothed it out and separated the plys.  Then, I attached one ply to a piece of card stock backing so it would be easy to trim the towel as needed.  You can see more of my paper towel backgrounds Here.

-I stamped the mountains from Mountain Air on Basic White card stock using Gorgeous Grape ink. Then, I cut them out using a die-cut machine and the coordinating Majestic Mountain Die.  I stamped the moon using Daffodil Delight ink and punched it using a 1″ circle punch.

-I stamped the trees/landscape on Old Olive card stock using Mossy Meadow ink and cut them out using the coordinating Majestic Mountain Die.

4. I built the landscape on the paper towel background using Mini Dimensionals to pop up the different elements.

5. Attach the paper towel/landscape scene to the back of the diorama opening.

Done!  You’ve created a Diorama Card!

6. Now, to finish the card:

-Stamp greeting.  I used the Happy Birthday greeting from Waves of Inspiration stamped on a Basic White card stock scrap using Gorgeous Grape ink.  I cut it out using the coordinating Waves Die.

-Cut trees out of Old Olive and Mossy Meadow card stock using Majestic Mountain Die.

-Add the greeting to the front of the card using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up.  Attach the trees to the front.  Add Pastel Pearls to complete.

I hope you’ll try the Diorama Card Technique a try.
