Five Minute Card

using the new Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!

Need an easy five minute card?

I’m here to help with this quick and easy card using  Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper.

Sometimes a simple black-and-white print is the touch of elegance a paper project needs, and the Perfectly Penciled 12″ x 12″ DSP is just that—simply elegant!

With hand-drawn florals and graphic patterns, this set has gorgeous neutral patterns for every occasion.

And if you love the patterns but still want some color, the outline designs are perfect for trying your hand at coloring!

Whether it be watercolor paints, alcohol markers, or blending inks, simply gather your favorite coloring tools and get to work.

I used Stampin’ Blends for this card to add a pop of color!

Five Minute Card
Here’s How:

  1. Start with a piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ Perfectly Penciled DSP and Basic Black card stock.
  2. Using one of the Basic Borders Dies, cut the top and bottom from the Basic Black using a die-cut machine.
  3. Attach the cut pieces to the DSP.  Attach to Basic White card base.
  4. Stamp greeting on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock,* and sponge Memento Black ink along the edges.  Attach using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up.
  5. Add Black and White Embellishments to complete.

*I used the greeting from Dragonfly Garden.  Because I only wanted to use the “thank you” part of the greeting, I inked that part only using a Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker.  This technique works best if you have a positioning tool like the Stamparatus just in case you don’t get a good stamped image and need to ink and stamp again.

Initially, I left the flower image on the DSP in black and white.

Then, I decided to add the pop of color using Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral, and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Blends.

This adds more time to the project, but it still is a quick card!

Here’s how the card looked before I added the color:
