What can I do with Paper Towels?
Make a Card!
I often use the paper towels I have used for cleaning stamps or blotting watercolors in my crafting.
But I don’t throw them away. Instead, I keep them to use in my card-making.
They add exciting colors and textures to a card project!
Plus, it’s good to recycle and reuse!

I paired a paper towel from my stash to create a background for this card’s Better Days stamp set.

Let me Show You How:
- Separate the plys and attach one piece to scrap card stock using adhesive. I use Stampin’ Seal by Stampin’ Up, but any tape runner-type adhesive will work. Adhesive Sheets would work well too. By attaching the paper towel to card stock, you’ll be able to easily cut it down to the size you need. Use the 2nd ply for another project!
- Trim to the size needed for your project.
- Stamp the image from Better Days using Early Espresso ink. I used the Stamparatus to get a good stamped image. Because of the texture in the paper towel, you probably won’t get a complete image by stamping just once. I stamped three times with the Stamparatus.
- Fussy cut the image using scissors.
- Remember how I said you could get two projects out of one piece of the paper towel by separating the plys? Well, I used the 2nd piece as the card front background for this card. Attach to a scrap piece of card stock, then trim it down to the needed size. Attach to Early Espresso mat, and attach to Basic White card base.
- Stamp greeting on the card base. I used Fauna and Flora, an old Paper Pumpkin stamp stamped with Early Espresso ink.
- Attach the image to the card front using Dimensionals to pop it up.
Done!
Don’t you love the texture the paper towel brings to this card?
The possibilities are endless!
