Aluminum Can Craft Idea-Colorado Native Card

Aluminum Can Craft Idea

Use aluminum cans to create a unique card.

I used this aluminum can from Colorado Native Mtn. Pass Pilsner

To create this card!

I’ve shared many cards I have created using beer or soda aluminum cans over the years.

My husband drinks craft beers, and I’m always confiscating the cans afterward.

I cut the cans down and use the fun and colorful labels to create cards.

It’s good to recycle and reuse, plus they make great masculine-themed cards!

(you can see some of the cards HERE)

Aluminum Can Craft Idea-Here’s How:

  1. Rinse out the can and set it aside to dry.
  2. Using a pair of sturdy craft scissors or tin snips, cut a slit through the opening of the can down to the upper rim.  Cut around the rim with a pair of sturdy craft scissors and remove.  Cut down the side of the can (I cut where the nutritional label is).  Then, cut around the bottom rim and remove.  Be careful, the edges of the can are sharp!
  3. Flatten can out. Working around the writing on the label, trim the can to fit your project.
  4. Attach a piece of Soft Succulent card stock to Evening Evergreen mat.  Attach to Basic Black mat.
  5. Attach cut label to matting. Because the can will have a slight curve, it is best to attach the can and mat to the card front using brads on the four corners.  This will help secure the can so it doesn’t bow.  I used a hole punch to punch small holes for the brads.  I used brads from my stash.
  6. Stamp greeting (Flora and Fauna) on Soft Succulent card base using Black Memento ink.  Attach the card front to the card base to complete.
