Paper Towel Tie-Dye Background
paired with the Split Dies and Daisy Punch for an easy, bright card!
This one makes me smile!
I’ve shared many backgrounds over the years that I’ve created using paper towels.
These are paper towels that I have used to clean stamps or blot watercolors.
They bring exciting colors and textures to my card creations, and each one is unique.
I had this paper towel in my stash.
Isn’t it pretty? Perfect for a paper towel tie-dye background!
I knew it would bring a pop of color when I paired it with a black card front die-cut using the new Split Card Texture Dies from Stampin’ Up!
Here’s How:
- Flatten out the paper towel and separate the plys. You only need one ply. The other can be used for another project.
- Attach the paper towel to a card stock backing using adhesive and trim to the size needed. By attaching it to a card stock background, you can easily trim it down to the size you need for your project.
- Die-cut card front out of Basic Black card stock using a die-cut machine and Split Card Texture Die. Keep as many of the bits inside the die as desired. Or, poke all of them to remove them.
- Attach strips of Foam Adhesive along the edges of the backside of the card front.
- Peel off the backing on the Foam Adhesive and attach the card front over the tie-dye paper towel background. Attach to Melon Mambo card base.
- Attach left-over pieces of the paper towel on scrap cardstock. Punch flowers using Daisy punch.
- Layer daisies using Dimensionals in between to pop the top flower up.
- Punch a circle out of Basic Black card stock and attach it to the center of the flowers.
- Attach daisy to card front using a Mini Dimensional to pop it up.
- Add Pastel Pearls to the center to complete.
The color possibilities are endless!
