Paper Towel Background Technique
paired with the Aspen Tree Die from Stampin’ Up!
I’m sharing another Paper Towel Background Technique!
I couldn’t resist this pretty green-toned background.
I often incorporate the paper towels I’ve used to clean stamps or blot watercolors in my crafting.
Each is different, providing interesting colors and texture to my card-making.
And the Paper Towel Background Technique pairs perfectly with the Aspen Tree Die!

Here’s How:
- Separate the paper towel plys. You’ll only use one ply. Save the second ply for another project.
- Attach ply to scrap card stock backing using regular adhesive. The card stock backing will make it easy to trim the paper towel to the size needed for your project.
- Cut paper towel to the project size.
- Die-cut aspens out of Basic White card stock using a die-cut machine and Aspen Tree Dies.
- Stamp greeting from Celebrating You using Shaded Spruce ink.
- Attach aspens to the paper towel background using Dimensionals to pop it up. Attach to Shaded Spruce card base.
- Die-cut leaves out of Shaded Spruce and Pear Pizzazz card stock using Aspen Tree Die.
- Attach leaves to the card front using a small amount of Tombow Liquid Glue.
- Add gems to complete.
