Triple Time using Designer Paper
I have lots and lots of designer paper. Some are current, but most are retired.
I never seem to use up a whole pack of designer paper and end up with whole sheets or bits and pieces.
My New Year’s resolution for 2024 is to use up some of the paper.
And maybe not purchase so many current catalog selections?
Ya, right!
So, how can I use up sheets of designer paper?
How about the Triple Time Technique!?
Usually, with the Triple Time Technique, you temporarily layer three card stock sizes and stamp all three with images.
Then, you disassemble and attach them to slightly larger matting pieces.
Then, layer them back together as one card front.
Instead of stamping the images, I used designer paper as the main focal point for these cards.
Triple Time using designer paper How To:
1.Start with a piece of designer paper cut to the size of. your card base. I usually start with a piece measuring 5″ x 3 3/4″.
The nice thing about this technique is that you can use just about any size of designer paper in your stash. That is what I did for the smaller center card. I had just a small piece of the floral Masterfully Made DSP left over and sized it down to use what I had.
2.Die-cut a rectangle or square out of the center of the DSP. For these cards, I used my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and Stitched Rectangle Dies cut out of Fresh as a Daisy and Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper.
3.Die-cut a smaller rectangle out of the center piece so you have three pieces.
4.Attach the pieces to a slightly larger mat of card stock. The matting can be 1/8″-1/2″ wide, depending on your choice.
5.Layer the matted pieces one on top of the other to create the Triple Time.
6.Attach to a card base and add a greeting if desired. I decided not to add greetings to these cards just yet. I’ll wait to see what occasion of cards I need throughout the next month.
