Zany Zoo Diorama

Zany Zoo Diorama

It’s that time of the year again when Stampin’ Up! releases the list of retiring stamp sets, papers, and accessories.

It’s always a bittersweet time of the year as some of our favorite stamp sets will be leaving to make room for new sets in the upcoming 2024-2025 Annual Catalog.

These products are available through April 30 or while supplies last.

Don’t miss out, order today!

Over the month, I will be sharing creations using some of my favorite retiring stamp sets.

Next up is Zany Zoo stamp set, coordinating Zany Dies, and Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper.

Hello Baby!

I made this card for an upcoming baby shower!

Exciting!

I don’t get to make baby cards very often, and Zany Zoo is perfect for little ones.

Zany Zoo Diorama How To:

1.Attach a piece of 5″ x 3 3/4″ Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper to  5 1/4″ x 4″ Basic White card front.  Die-cut the center, creating the stage, using a rectangle die.

2.Fussy cut animals from Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper.

3.Die cut curtains using Zany Dies.  I used black glimmer paper from my stash.  Attach to the card front using Adhesive Foam Strips at the top and Mini Dimensionals on the sides to pop the curtains up adding dimension to the front of the stage.

4. Paper towel background: I often incorporate paper towels I have used to clean stamps or blot watercolors in my crafting as they add interesting colors and texture.  I have several in my stash that I can use at any given time.

You can see more of my paper towel creations HERE.

-separate the plys and attach one to a card stock background.  Trim the paper towel and card stock to the size needed to fill the rectangle opening of the card front.

Apply Adhesive Foam Strips along the edges of the rectangle cut out on the back side of the card front.  Attach the paper towel background to the inside of the card front so it shows through the rectangle opening. This will add more dimension.

Die-cut two curtain tie-backs out of the scrap paper towel.  Attach to the curtains.

5. Attach the card front to Pool Party card base.

6. Attach animals using Mini Dimensionals along the bottom of the stage.

7. Stamp greeting, attach to mat, and attach to card front. Add gems to complete.

Since I don’t have a current baby stamp, I used the long retired stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes and coordinating Word Window and Label punches.

And to complete the card, I made an envelope out of a sheet of the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper using my retired Envelope Punch Board.

Since I have so many sheets of retired designer paper, I have started making envelopes out of them.

A great way to upcycle!
