Cheerful Daisies Faux Postage
Perfect for a Mother’s Day Card!
One of my favorite stamping techniques is the Faux Postage Technique.
I used to collect postage stamps when I was a child.
This technique brings me back to those good memories, allowing me to create my own postage stamps!
I paired the technique with the fun Cheerful Daisies stamp set.
Cheerful Daisies Faux Postage How-to:
1.Create postage template:
-die-cut a piece of paper using the Perennial Postage die. I used a piece of Grid Sheet paper so I could use the grid lines to help line up the dies in the next step. You could use copy paper or card stock.
-Lay smaller Perennial Postage dies on the stencil and die-cut creating open stencil spaces.
That’s it!
2..Lay the stencil on Basic White card front using washi or painter’s tape to hold the card front and stencil in place.
3.With a sponge, sponge dauber, or Blending Brush, add Petal Pink ink to the cut spaces of the stencil. Make the color as light or dark as you like.
4.Stamp images from Cheerful Daisies in each of the spaces. I used Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Berry Burst, and Old Olive inks.
5. Using a Perennial Postage die, die-cut the card front. Attach to Melon Mambo mat. Attach to Petal Pink card front. Stamp greeting from Sending Love using Melon Mambo ink.
6. Add metallic highlights using Metallic Enamel Effect to complete.
