Simply Zinnia Matchbook Card
Sometimes an “oops” can be adapted to make another creation!
This was the case with this Simply Zinnia Matchbook Card.
I was cleaning up my paper scraps and came across a Basic White card base that I had scored incorrectly. Instead of scoring it at 5 1/2″, I scored it at 5 1/4″. Because of this, the base did not fold evenly. Instead, I had a 1/4″ piece overhang.
Normally, I would just cut the piece down as needed to use as a card front or matting. Instead, I decided to make the overhang part of a matchbook card. I simply folded up the overhang piece, stapling it in place.
In my pile of scraps, I already had a piece of Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper and a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock. With just a bit of trimming, they quickly became the front of the matchbook card. The part I trimmed off the Lemon Lime Twist, I added to the matchbook fold.
Then, I die-cut the flowers and leaves out of coordinating Blackberry Bliss, Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Mossy Meadow card stock using the Zinnia Dies.
I stamped the greeting from Simply Zinnias on the inside using Blackberry Bliss and added some large rhinestone jewels colored with a Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend to the front of the card to complete.
