Under the Moon Fold-Out Card

Under the Moon Fold Out Card How-To:

Paper Measurements:

Basic White card base: 11” x 4 1/4”, scored at 5 1/2”

Basic White card front for stamped image: 5” x 3 3/4”

Boho Blue matting for card front: 5 1/4″ x 4″

Basic White Fold-Out for Inside: 5 1/4” x 8”, scored at 4” and 6”

Boho Blue Panel for inside: 1 3/4” x 5 1/4”

1.Attach Bobo Blue matting to Basic White card base.   Using a die or circle punch, cut out “window.”  I used a 2 1/4″ circle die. Save the cut-out circle for the inside.

2.Stamp Basic White card front using images from Under the Moon in Boho Blue, Balmy Blue, Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy inks.  Slip the card front under the punched circle on the card base and mark the circle using a pencil.  Line up your die or punch with the marked circle and die-cut or punch.

3.Attach the fold-out insert to the inside of the card.  Fold along the score lines.  The first score is folded to the right and second score is folded back upon itself.

4. Attach Boho Blue panel.

Option: stamp or dry emboss panel before attaching.

5. Stamp moon using Smoky Slate ink on Whisper White card stock.  Die-cut or punch.  I used a 2 1/4″ circle punch.  Attach to Silver Foil matting die-cut or punched.  I used a 2 3/8″ circle punch.

6. Attach moon to fold-out piece, applying adhesive to the right side of the moon only.

7. Stamp greeting on cut-out circle and attach to inside of the card, lining it up behind the moon. I used Misty Moonlight ink and retired Pansy Patch stamp set.

8. Stamp greeting for the front.  I used part of the greeting from the retired Easter Bunny stamp set.  The greeting is “Enjoy All the Little Moments”, and I just wanted the “Enjoy” part.  So, I simply masked the words I didn’t want using a piece of Scotch Tape.  I then inked the greeting using Night of Navy ink, removed the tape (important!), and  stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock.  I lightly sponged Boho Blue ink on the piece, then attached to a Night of Navy mat.  It is popped up on the card front using Mini Dimensionals.

9. Add embellishments to complete.

This fold out template could be used for any number of card projects.

The possibilities are endless!
