Terrific Toadstools with Paper Towel Background
I often repurpose the paper towels I have used for cleaning stamps or blotting watercolors in my crafting.
I don’t throw them away. Instead, I keep them to use in my card-making.
They add exciting colors and textures to a card project!
Plus, it’s good to recycle and reuse!
I paired a paper towel from my stash to create a background for this card’s Terrific Toadstools stamp set.

Terrific Toadstools with Paper Towel Background How To:
I started with this paper towel that I had used to clean a mix of pinks, orange, and a touch of brown off of stamp sets during a recent flurry of crafting.
I loved the vibrant colors, and I knew I had to use the paper towel as a background for a new creation!
1.First, I separated the plys of the paper towel so I had 2 pieces that I could use.
2. I always attach the paper towel to a card stock background. This makes it easier to cut the piece down to whatever size I need for the project.
3.Once cut down, I attached the paper towel background to a Melon Mambo mat.
4.Stamp mushrooms from Terrific Toadstools stamp set in various colors of ink:
Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, and Crushed Curry.
5.Punch using coordinating Terrific Toadstools punch.
6.Stamp several stem images on Early Espresso card stock using Early Espresso ink. Fussy cut using scissors. Or, for smaller stems, punch out of Early Espresso card stock using Terrific Toadstools punch.
7.Build mushrooms onto paper towel background using adhesive and Mini Dimensionals to pop some of them up.
8. Attach to Basic White card base.
9. Stamp greeting on Basic White card stock using Blackberry Bliss ink. Die-cut using Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and Quiet Meadow Die (retired). Attach to Smoky Slate mat and attach to card front using Mini Dimensionals.
10. Add gem embellishments to complete.
I love the colors and textures of the paper towel.
It really adds to the whimsy of the Terrific Toadstools stamp set!
