Priority Mail: Delivering Valentine’s Hearts
Valentine’s Day is coming soon, and I wanted to create a special Valentine’s for our 8-year-old Granddaughter, Madysen.
I got the idea for this envelope filled with hearts from a Facebook Reel done by Pickitz Crafts.
She created hers using an Amazon shipping envelope.
I didn’t have one of those, but I do have a stash of Priority Mail envelopes from the USPO!
I decided to go with the mail theme by using the Sending Love stamp set from Stampin’ Up!, paired with other items in my crafting stash.
This was a fun project!

Priority Mail: Delivering Valentine’s Hearts How To:
- Paint the front and back sides of the envelope using white acrylic paint. It took several coats to cover the markings on the envelope. Let the paint dry completely in between coats.
- Paint the top flap of the envelope using dark pink acrylic paint. Set aside to dry.
- The priority envelope has a strip of sealant to secure the envelope closed. Tear off the backing on the strip and attach a decorative ribbon on the sealant.
- For the hearts, I had 3 quilted fabric hearts that my cousin had made and sent to me. They were larger than what I needed for the envelope, so I cut them down using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and Hearts Collection Dies.
5. Now to decorate the back of the envelope:
-stamp greeting/stamp from Sending Love on Basic White card stock using Memento Black ink. Color image using Stampin’ Write Markers. Punch using a 1″ circle punch. Attach to 1 1/4″ circle punched out of Flirty Flamingo card stock. Layer circles.
-stamp cancellation mark using Memento Black ink. Attach the stamp over the cancellation mark.
-stamp postage stripes along the bottom edge of the envelope.
-draw lines for writing the name of the addressee. I used a ruler and Sharpie pen.
-stamp Happy Valentine’s Day from Bee Mine stamp set using Melon Mambo ink. Stamp hearts using Memento black ink and color using Stampin’ Write Markers
-die-cut a return address label out of Basic White card stock using Perennial Labels Die. Stamp bird from Sending Love and color using a Stampin’ Write Marker.
-I added 3 more of the ribbon cluster flowers along the bottom to cover a spot of smeared ink on the bottom stripe.
6. Now to decorate the front of the envelope:
Tie ribbon into bows and layer. The ribbons are both retired from Stampin’ Up! added 2 rolled ribbon clusters of flower embellishments from my stash. I used a glue gun to layer the ribbons and attach the embellishments.
-stamp greetings from Sending Smiles stamp set on Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo card stock using Memento Black ink. Die-cut using coordinating Sending Smiles Dies. Attach to envelope front.
-insert hearts into the envelope. I secured them with a touch of hot glue so they wouldn’t slip inside the envelope. Our granddaughter may want to remove them, so I’m hoping the fabric won’t tear since I used just a small spot of glue.
-attach heart-shaped food picks with the bottom of the picks cut off as an added embellishment
-punch holes in the top of the envelope. Thread ribbon through the holes, tying the ends into a knot on the backside.
Done!
This was a fun project, sure to bring a smile to our granddaughter!
