Watercolor Leftovers? Make a Card!
A few years ago, I received a truly special surprise in the mail from Dan Stouffer, a talented watercolor artist and longtime family friend from New Mexico.
Both my mom and I proudly display many of his beautiful paintings in our homes.
This unexpected gift included a collection of Dan’s “blotter” sheets—scrap papers he uses to test colors while painting—as well as trimmed pieces from his landscape works that, for one reason or another, didn’t make the final cut.
Technically, they’re scraps.
But oh, what gorgeous scraps!
Below is a photo of the blotter pieces, along with a link to the unique, heartfelt cards I created using them.
And those tiny landscape pieces? Mini masterpieces—perfect for cardmaking or even framing!
This card was truly a 5 minute creation!
I simply matted the painting, then attached it to a card base.
I decided not to add a greeting. The beautiful painting is the focal point.
