Scrappy Layers-Quilted Look

Scrappy Layers-Quilted Look
I may not be a quilter, but I’ve always admired the cozy, colorful beauty of handmade quilts.
That inspiration led me to try the faux quilting technique—a fun and creative way to capture the quilted look using paper.
It’s a perfect project for using up those bits and pieces of retired Designer Series Paper I can’t bear to toss.
For this cheerful card, I arranged ½” strips of patterned paper into a patchwork design, then ran the panel through an embossing folder to mimic quilted stitching.
A bright daisy on top brings a playful finishing touch!
While I used mostly retired products to create this card—like Designer Series Papers, the Daisy Punch, and the Softly Sophisticated embossing folder—the possibilities are endless!
That’s the beauty of this technique: you can use whatever you have in your crafting stash to make it your own.
