Creating with Opulent Oasis & the New Impressions Plate

Have you seen the new Impressions Plate and dies from Stampin’ Up!?

This innovative plate allows you to emboss with your dies, adding an entirely new level of texture and dimension to your projects.

Stampin’ Up! has also introduced two die sets designed specifically for this technique: Phrases & Frames and Opulent Oasis.

For this post, I created two cards using the Opulent Oasis Impressions Dies.

The first is a traditional layered card, while the second is a clean, one-layer design.

For the one-layer card, I wanted to see if I could emboss the image directly using the Impressions Plate—and it worked beautifully! I simply added color to the embossed design using a Blending Brush and sponge daubers to bring it to life.

This one is the longer of the two and was the video shared with Demonstrators during the pre-order period

And this one is shorter and geared towards customers

For this card, I die-cut the image from Berry Burst cardstock using the standard die-cutting sandwich: platforms 1 and 2, lower cutting plate, paper, die, and upper cutting plate.

Next, I kept the cardstock in the die and embossed it using the Impressions Plate with this sandwich: platforms 1 and 2, die with the cut side facing up, Impressions Pad, and gray plate #4.

To highlight the embossed details, I applied white craft ink to the center of the flower using a Blending Brush.

I stamped and die-cut the leaves and greeting with the Opulent Oasis stamp set and dies, then layered the pieces onto a beautiful panel of Velvet Meadow Specialty Paper.

Finally, I added rhinestone jewels to the flower center for a touch of sparkle.

For the second card, I embossed the Basic White card base directly using the Opulent Oasis die and Impressions Plate.

I then blended Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Crushed Curry, and Mossy Meadow ink over the raised embossing with a Blending Brush and sponge daubers to bring out the design.

I finished the card by adding rhinestone jewels to the flower centers for extra shine.
