Hydrangea Hue Calm Waters Color Dare 715
Here are this week’s challenge:
For this week’s Color Dare #715, I combined Hydrangea Hue, Barely Pink, and Soft Sea Foam with Crumb Cake as a neutral to create a peaceful coastal scene.
The soft color palette immediately reminded me of gentle ocean waves, sandy beaches, and seashell treasures gathered along the shore.
Using the Sunset Coast stamp set and dies, I layered simple stamped and die-cut elements to create a card that captures the calm beauty of the coast.
Hydrangea Hue Calm Waters How-To
- Begin by blending Hydrangea Hue ink onto a Basic White card front using a Blending Brush. Apply the ink lightly to create a soft sky and water background.
- Next, stamp the water image from the Sunset Coast stamp set using full-strength Hydrangea Hue ink. Without reinking, stamp the image a second time to add depth and variation to the waves.
- Then, die-cut the net, shells, and starfish from Barely Pink, Soft Sea Foam, and Crumb Cake card stock using the Sunset Coast Dies.
- Wrap a length of Linen Thread around the card front and secure it on the back.
- Finally, layer the die-cut pieces onto the card front. Add a 3/4-inch circle, a die-cut starfish, and a few enamel dots to complete the design with texture and dimension.
