A Fresh Twist on Winter Greenery – Color Dare #727

A Fresh Twist on Winter Greenery – Color Dare #727

For today’s Color Dare Challenge #727, shades of green take center stage, with two additional colors added to the mix.

I paired Soft Sea Foam, Mossy Meadow, and Garden Green with Perfect Peacock and Blackberry Bliss to create this Winter Wishes card.

The Golden Greenery (retired) stamp set provided the perfect winter foliage, while the unexpected pops of Perfect Peacock and Blackberry Bliss gave the traditional greenery a fresh, colorful twist.

A simple masking technique created the open space across the center for the greeting and pulled the whole design together.

A Fresh Twist on Winter Greenery How-to:

Start by masking the center of the Basic White card front with a strip of masking adhesive.

Use the two-step pine bough stamps to build the greenery:

Stamp the solid image in Soft Sea Foam first, then add the detailed image in Mossy Meadow.

Stamp the flowers in Perfect Peacock and Blackberry Bliss.

Remove the mask, then stamp the Winter Wishes greeting from Frosted Pinecones stamp set in Blackberry Bliss.

Add the berries in Garden Green and Blackberry Bliss for extra pops of color.

To finish, mat the card front on Mossy Meadow card stock and attach it to a Soft Sea Foam card base.

I hope you’ll join in the fun! Color challenges are a great way to spark creativity and try color combinations you might not normally choose.

Create your project, share it on your favorite social media platform—blog, Facebook, Instagram, and more—then link your creation on the Color Dare site.

I’d love to see what you create!
