Glow of Harvest-Three Cards using Three Techniques

The August Product of the Month, Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper, celebrates the beauty of fall with charming patterns of pumpkins, leaves, acorns, and florals. Warm shades of brown, beige, and soft orange capture the colors of the season, while a subtle shimmer adds a little extra sparkle.
Fall is my favorite season, so this paper is right up my alley!
Inspired by these beautiful designs, I created a trio of cards featuring three easy techniques:
3 Panel, Double Vision, and Triple Time.
Each technique adds a little dimension and an unexpected twist that makes these fall-inspired cards extra special!
Three Panel Technique
- Start by attaching a piece of Basic Beige cardstock to the center of an Early Espresso card base.
- Next, cut two 1-1/4″ wide strips of Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper (DSP). Attach one strip to each side of the card front using Adhesive Foam Strips to add dimension.
- Using a different pattern of DSP, die-cut three squares with a small stitched square die.
- Mat each square with Early Espresso cardstock for contrast.
- Finally, arrange the three squares vertically down the center of the card. Add Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the two edges of each square that overlap the raised side panels to secure them in place.
Double Vision Technique
- Start with an A2 card base in Cajun Craze cardstock.
- Cut a piece of Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper (DSP) to measure 4-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
- Next, cut the DSP into nine 1/2″-wide strips, keeping them in order to maintain the pattern.
- Attach the first strip flat to the card front using Liquid Glue.
- Slightly overlap the second strip over the first, using Adhesive Foam Strips or Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise it.
- Continue adding the remaining strips, alternating between flat and raised pieces to create a dimensional, layered effect.
- Next, stamp leaves from the Simply Leaves stamp set onto Early Espresso, Garden Glow, and Cajun Craze Two-Tone cardstock using Cajun Craze and Early Espresso inks. Punch out the leaves with the coordinating Simply Leaves Punch.
- Arrange and attach the punched leaves to the card front for a colorful fall accent.
- Finally, stamp the greeting onto a strip of Basic White cardstock using Peaceful Pine ink. Attach it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for an extra pop of dimension.
Tip: Use Liquid Glue to attach the flat strips. This gives you a little wiggle room to adjust their placement as you build the design.
Triple Time Technique
- Start by cutting a piece of Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper (DSP) to fit your card front. I usually begin with a piece measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″.
- Next, use the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut a rectangle or square from the center of the DSP.
- Die-cut a smaller rectangle from the center of the piece you just removed. You should now have three pieces that fit together to recreate the original pattern.
- Arrange the three pieces on a Pecan Pie card base, aligning the patterns to maintain the original design. Attach the pieces to create the layered Triple Time effect.
- Finally, stamp a greeting from the Simply Leaves stamp set onto a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock using Pecan Pie ink. Attach it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for an extra pop of dimension.
Tip: Keep the die-cut pieces in their original orientation so the patterns line up perfectly when you reassemble them.
