Stamping With Blue Moon Creations

Fabric Scissors Holder-Big Shot and the Petal Cone Die

For my second project for this month’s Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew challenge, I made these fabric scissor holders using the Big Shot and Petal Cone die (retiring).

These are such a great no sew project, and they make great gifts for any crafter in your life.

I simply cut 2 7″x7″ square pieces of fabric.  I ironed a piece of felt in between the 2 pieces using Stampin’ Up! fabric adhesive (retiring) to secure, then cut the sandwich out using the Big Shot and Petal Cone die.  The felt in between the 2 layers of fabric is optional, but does add some weight and strength to the holders.

When the fabric is cut using the Petal Cone die, it has a side tab that you will simply trim off.

Apply a bead of fabric glue to the inside edge. (You probably don’t need this much glue.  It came gushing out of the bottle-oops!)

Then fold the fabric in half, lining up the edges.

Fold down the top round edge of the cone and tack it down with a little dab of fabric glue underneath. (Again, you don’t need this much glue.  I have a love/hate relationship with this stuff.  It’s either clogged up in the opening or comes gushing out.  I think the temperature in the house has something to do with it too.  We’re finally warming up!)

You can add the 1/2 scalloped circle that is also cut from the die to the back of the holder for a little more added interest.  Or not…

The flowers were cut out of scrap pieces of felt using the Big Shot and Fun Flowers die, layered together and glued down using fabric glue.  Add buttons, twine or ribbon if desired.

Supplies Used:

Big Shot, Petal Cone and Fun Flowers die, Fabric Adhesive (retiring), Twitterpated, Flirtatious and More Amore Designer Fabric (retiring), felt, fabric glue

I watched the videos and realized how to do a shaker card. Pretty cool. The bubble wrap card is so much fun. The blue really stands out in each card. I like your videos. You get right to the card instructions. Great creative ideas. -D Welch
