Candy Sprinkle Spring-Nacho Average Sketch Challenge #43

We have a sketch challenge over at the Nacho Average Challenge site.

Here’s my contribution:

Candy sprinkles 008

I recently saw the idea of using candy sprinkles to create a card in a recent Paper Crafts Magazine, and I knew I had to give it a try!

It is so simple.  All you need is the candy sprinkles you have in your kitchen cabinet (you know, the ones you use to decorate the top of cakes and cupcakes) and a spritzer bottle with water.

Simply spritz your card stock (I actually used watercolor paper, but regular card stock will work) lightly with water and sprinkle on the candy sprinkles direct from the bottle.  Lightly spritz the paper again with water and set aside to dry.  Brush off the sprinkles after they’ve dried.  The candy sprinkles will dissolve in the water, leaving little blobs and marks on the paper, and creating a cool swirly abstract background.

This is one of those projects where each one will turn out differently!  Celebrate spring with bright colors!

Here’s the original sketch:
