One Layer Snowflake Soiree-Nacho Average Sketch Challenge #17

We have an interesting sketch this week over at Nacho Average Challenges.

Here is my contribution:

Snowflake Soiree 001

I wanted to make a one layer card for this challenge.  You would think one layer cards would be simple, right?  Not so much!  This one took me 3 tries to get it right.

I used the masking technique by laying 2 post-it-notes along the bottom edge of the card base, then sponged on Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Wisteria Wonder on the upper part.  Keeping the masks on, I stamped the snowflakes in Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder.  Smudging is a problem since I was working with glossy white card stock.  Remember, it takes a few minutes for the ink to dry.  Waiting is the hardest part for me.  I walked away, did some housework and came back to it a little while later.  By then, the ink had dried so I could remove the post-it-notes and stamp the greeting.  It also helps to wash your fingers to get the ink off the tips from the sponging 🙂 No smudges or fingerprints!

I resisted purchasing the Snowflake Soiree set, but finally gave in.  I’m glad I did. I really like the “Believe” greeting, plus purple snowflakes make me smile!
