Sponged Sky-Less is More Challenge Tearing

This week’s challenge over at Less is More is “Tearing”, in any form, bold or subtle.  As I was sitting at my dining room table this morning thinking about this challenge, I looked up and this is what I saw out my window!

Sponged Sky-Less is More Challenge Tearing

Someone asked me the other day where I get my inspiration.  Oh my, that was an easy question to answer. I just have to look out my windows and I see inspiration every day!

This is my “tearing” card inspired by the two does who visited our property this morning.

I used the sponged background technique.  I simply tore a piece of computer paper, laid it on my glossy white card stock and sponged the first layer of mountains using Soft Suede ink.  Then I moved my torn paper slightly and sponged on the next layer using Sahara Sand.  Moved it again, and added a layer of Going Grey, then River Rock.  I inked up and stamped the deer image using Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi and Always Artichoke markers.  I added another couple of Sahara Sand layers at the base of the mountains using my torn copy paper and then sponged on some Always Artichoke ink to fill in the grassy area.  To complete the card, I sponged on some Bashful Blue and Marina Mist for the sky.
