Stamping With Blue Moon Creations

Vintage Wallpaper-Emboss Resist

It has been a long time since I’ve done an inspiration challenge.  I think it is mostly because since we have  moved, we no longer receive the daily newspaper. The advertising inserts are always filled with great color combinations or designs. While going through these inserts, I’d often find a bedspread, blanket or blouse advertised that I though would translate into a great paper crafting project.  My husband bought a Sunday paper recently, and I found this brightly colored bedspread advertised by one of the big box stores.  I immediately thought of the Vintage Wallpaper, one of the newest textured embossing folders from Stampin’ Up!

Here is the inspiration

And here is my take.  I used the emboss resist technique.

Emboss Resist: This card was made by brayering Tempting Turquoise to the recessed side of the inside of the folder before running it through the Big Shot.  The image is raised and resists the ink, leaving the color on the background.

If you brayer the raised side of the inside of the embossing folder, you will get a slightly different result.  The image is debossed.  The color is in the debossed image, leaving the background white.
