“Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter. Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom, but we hope it, we know it.” —Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I used the Season of Friendship stamp set over and over again this season. I used to it make gifts for my workshop hostesses as well as family Christmas gifts.
One of the quickest and easiest gifts to make are tile coasters. These are tumbled marble tiles stamped with craft ink and baked in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. I also add fun foam “feet” to the bottom of each tile so they don’t scratch furniture or counter tops.
These are glossy or glazed tiles so they are stamped differently. I used regular dye ink. You have to be a little more careful stamping these because they are slick and if you move the stamp just a little bit, you will get smearing. The good thing is that you can just wipe off the ink and start over. These are not baked, but sprayed with an acrylic sealant to seal the ink.
Add “feet”, wrap ribbon around them, and you’ve got a very easy gift!
I also made several frames to give as gifts:
