Crystal Effects Stained Glass

Crystal Effects Stained Glass

Crystal Effects has made a return in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog!

Crystal Effects is a water based glossy lacquer that works as a liquid embellishment.
Stampin’ Up! retired it a couple of years ago, but has brought back an updated version that has white and silver flecks for an added touch of sparkle!
So fun, and the possibilities are endless.
For this card, I used the new Shimmery Crystal Effects paired with the die cut found in the Stain Glass Dies for a sparkly, yet elegant sympathy card.
The background paper Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.

Here’s How:
1. Cut the half-round stained glass out of Champagne Foil paper using the Big Shot and Stain Glass Die.  This is a delicate die, so if possible, cut it out using an adhesive backing on the foil paper.  That way, all you have to do is peel off the backing on the adhesive and apply it to the card front without glue.  I used the retired Adhesive Sheets from Stampin’ Up!
2.  Attach die-cut to Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper panel.  Carefully add Shimmery Crystal Effects in between the panes of the stained glass.  Sprinkle some Shimmer White Embossing Powder over the wet Crystal Effects for added sparkle.  Set aside to dry completely.
3. Stamp greeting from Painted Glass on a Smoky Slate card base using Basic Gray ink.  I used the Stamparatus.
4. Attach the stained glass pane to the card base.  Attach a piece of ribbon above the stained glass.  I used some silver sparkle ribbon from my stash.
5. Apply Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets to complete.
