Father’s Day is just a few days away!
Here’s a quick and easy card, perfect for Father’s Day or any other occasion.
And what’s best about it is it is a way to use up some of those paper scraps that are probably laying around your crafting table.
Here’s how:
If you are like me, you have all different colors and sizes of paper scraps next to your paper trimmer.
I sorted through them and picked out pieces of Basic Black, Whisper White, Smoky Slate and Bermuda Bay that were about 4″ long and were wide enough that I could cut them down to 1/2″ strips.
Then, I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 5″ x 3 3/4″ to use as my base.
I drew a diagonal line across the piece using a ruler and pencil. This line would be by guide for setting the strips of paper.
I cut a piece of Adhesive Sheet the same size, peeled off the backing, laid it onto the base, then removed the sheet leaving a sticky layer which would be what adheres the strips to the base. No need for any other adhesive.
Then, it is just a matter of attaching the strips, alternating the colors. The pieces will extend past the base, and they can easily be trimmed off from the back side when complete.
Once the ends have been trimmed, it is easy to complete the card using a greeting for any occasion.
For this card, I used the greeting stamps from Manly Moments, May’s Paper Pumpkin kit. I stamped them on a scrap piece of Smoky Slate card stock using Memento Black ink, then punched the piece using the Starburst punch. The greeting was matted onto a piece of Basic Black cut out using the 2 1/4″ circle punch and added to the front of the card using Mini Dimensinals to pop it up.
I attached the card front to a Basic Black mat, then attached it to a Bermuda Bay card base.
I added black faceted dots to complete.
Easy, easy, and the possibilities are endless.
Just use what scraps you have on your crafting table!
