Waterfront Paper Towel Background Part 2

Here are more cards I created using 2  recycled paper towels.

You can see more of my recycled background cards on my Recycle and Reuse Page HERE!

This is the paper towel I used for the top card.

I dampened it with water, then used it to clean off ink on the tops and sides of my Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, and Melon Mambo ink pads.

I was left with an interesting background, so I set it aside to dry and use later.

This is the paper towel I used for the bottom card.

It was used to clean off ink from my So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Early Espresso ink pads.

To create the backgrounds, I separated the plys to use a single layer.  (You can get at least 2 backgrounds out of 1 piece of paper towel.)

I covered a piece of scrap card stock with glue using a glue stick, then attached the paper towel, stretching it carefully with my fingertips so it wouldn’t tear.

This step is important because it gives a solid backing to the paper towel, allowing you to easily cut the piece down to the desired size using a paper trimmer or scissors.

You could also use adhesive sheets or a xyron machine.

Then, I simply stamped my images from my favorite stamp set, Waterfront, creating little mountain scenes.

Be sure your ink pads are inked up as you will be stamping on a textured surface.

For these cards, I stamped the canyon walls, the mountain range, and landscape using Early Espresso ink.  The sun was stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink.

The pieces were attached to a Soft Suede mat, then to a So Saffron card base using Dimensionals to pop them up.

The greeting is from Wish Big (Paper Pumpkin) stamped in Early Espresso ink.

So, when you are cleaning up, be sure to save those paper towels to use as interesting backgrounds for later projects!
